Gallery installation shots showing my 3 framed prints with the works of Nikki Davidson Bowman and ceramicist, Jane King. The show curators placed our work in close proximity, creating links between the works, we hadn’t previously been aware of.
Nikki Davidson Bowman’s work used archival photographic prints and negatives sleeves, utilising images of someone’s personal memories. This resonated with my own work, which was created from original photographic fragments, layered and made into collages.
Jane King’s ceramic pieces matched contrasting textures, alternating between smooth and crumpled consistencies. These were similar to the mixed images and qualities of the photographic paper fragments I’d used in the collages.
